America The Beautiful: What is happening and where are we going?

As I think about how grateful I am for God's hand on my life, family and ministry, I see a strong parallel to our Nation, the United States of America.

Was it not God who brought about the creation of this nation through men of faith?

Listen to the following quotes from our founding fathers:

“If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering. But if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” - Daniel Webster, Founding Father

"The belief in a God All Powerful wise and good, is so essential to the moral order of the world and to the happiness of man, that arguments which enforce it cannot be drawn from too many sources nor adapted with too much solicitude to the different characters and capacities impressed with it." --James Madison

Virginia's first freely-elected governor, and founding father, Patrick Henry, stated: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religion but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We shall not fight alone. God presides over the destinies of nations."

And on and on we could go quoting the men who found our nation and wrote and signed our great constitution. They knew that the only way our nation would function properly was if it were governed by the principles of God and His Holy Word.

HOW FAR WE HAVE DRIFTED FROM THAT CREED!

As I watch the news today I hear activists, humanists, and celebrities criticizing every move, complaining about every decision, and making accusations left and right. Certainly we all share the freedom of reviewing policy and voicing our opinion...but I believe it has gone too far.

Daniel Webster is quoted above as saying that, "no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity." His condition for this happening was simply departing from the principles of God as a governing and guiding force. It sounds very close to what is happening in America today. As we depart more and more from righteousness and the God-given principles this nation was founded upon, we put ourselves more and more in line with coming catastrophe.

So what is the answer? Can this be reversed? Are we through as a nation or is there hope for restoration?

I felt compelled to compile a list of prophetic words from the last few years that spread light on the current conditions of America and her eminent future. I hope that you find comfort knowing that God has not left us out here alone and without His word to guide us. He is still speaking through His prophets and servants so as to comfort us and guide us in His perfect will.

Here is a compilation of some of the prophetic directives that seem most relevant to our situation today. My comments will be in "( )" so as not to bring confusion as to who said what.

Prophet Bob Jones (*not the Bob Jones of Bob Jones University) had a vision in 1999 before the election of President Bush. In this vision, he was surrounded by water up to the ankle, which became water to the knee. It represented a time of favor and blessing upon the righteous but he also knew this meant a time of "troubled waters" was coming upon the nation. The Lord told him a "burning bush" would come out of Texas, someone who would incline his ear to the word of the Lord...In this vision, the Lord showed Bob if George W. Bush got elected to a second term, he would end abortion!!

(You may not agree with every decision our President has made, but we cannot overlook the fact that this is God's man for this time in history.)

Bob also confirmed what was already evident in that given the age of the judges on the Supreme Court, three new justices would be appointed during the next presidential term, setting the course of the Courts for decades to come!

(We've already seen two seats vacated. We must pray that God's will would be done is this area and that we would get the full 3 seats that was promised.)

The Lord also showed Bob that in his second term, George Bush would open the door to a godly successor who would be in office for two terms and would usher in full-blown, historic revival! America would thus be blessed by sixteen years of mercy and grace. Should this not occur, our nation will surely face the judgments of God in increasing measure for our sins.

(It is important to note that these words were given with the condition that the Church must do her part and pray for their fulfillment. God is saying, "This is my plan, I want you to pray it into being." We cannot sit back and just wait to see what happens. God has called the Church to pray and contend for these promises. IF WE DO NOT, THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES! Matthew 11:12 says, "the violent take it by force.")

Lou Engle said the following of these prophetic promises: "It is important to understand the abolition of abortion in our nation and the election of this coming godly president is a conditional promise from the Lord. It's fulfillment rests on the prayers and intercession of the church."

(The Church must have done it's part in the prayer for the election and re-election of President Bush, but now we must do our part in prayer and intercession for the rest of these promises.)

So, you can see how God has a wonderful plan of restoration and revival for our nation! But it all depends on the prayers and intercession of His people contending for these promises. Now let's look at some prophetic direction in regards to a more recent event, Hurricane Katrina.

Servants of God:

Enough of past curses reminding you of yesterday's failures. Enough of New Orleans and its treachery!

Enough of stealing the Ark of the Covenant from my people just because you had those surrounding you that had no faith. Caleb said we are able to take this land. Joshua said we are able to take this land. But ten voices arose against the Lord God, and they would stone my servant Moses and say let us stone them and raise up another leader so that we may go back to Egypt. Would you go back to your dung? Would you go back to your vomit?

O New Orleans, God speaks to you from Houston tonight and says "Enough of this!"

"For a judgment is coming," says the Spirit of the Lord, "and I will take the men that have stood in faith and raise them above the flood that shall destroy those that constantly bicker and stand against my servant Moses, or my servant Bilbo. I want you to understand there are great men in New Orleans that have faith, but you have been set aside, not to lose but to win.

Enough of this!

For I will take the curses, and the bodies will even rise and they will come forth on the water. But I will keep you, and the stench of death will only last a few days.

And then, what I promised two years ago will come to pass for August, September, and October of this year; I made a promise it would happen. God said, "Be strengthened now. Be strengthened now, for enough is enough," says the Lord.

(Notice that this was given one full month before the Hurrican even formed. Also, it was prophesied in Houston, TX which became a city of refuge to the evacuees of New Orleans. Finally, it is important to understand that the purpose of this event was for an eventual resoration and fullfilment of a prophetic promise. I think it is also important to point out that Kim was prophesying over a pastor from New Orleans which means that we must judge what part of the word is for us as a nation and what part of it may be specific to the pastor and his mnistry.)

Prophecy by Kim Clement on Sept. 2, 2005.

"There are four regions in the United States of America where cleansing will take place,' says the Lord.

'There are four regions in this nation,' The Spirit of God said. One shall be a Twin Territory. And God said, 'I will cleanse this nation, for an odor and a stench has come before Me.'

And when it is all said and done, and the end of October comes, and they say, 'We will celebrate Halloween,' God said, 'There will be remorse, and I will end that day with My voice through this nation.

'Four regions shall be cleansed. And I will cause this nation to tremble.

'They will say, "We're Next! Is it a Hurricane? Is it a furnace? What is it?"'

The Spirit of God said, 'But Listen!' The elements are crying out and reacting to a Heaven that is opened over this nation.

Gatekeepers, gatekeepers, gatekeepers of America, listen to the voice of the Lord

'I will stop discord and division - enough is enough!

'And when the cleansing has taken place, there will be a mighty rushing wind that shall come in and restore this nation back to order,' says the Lord of Hosts.

'I will bring them back to the place that their forefathers dreamed. I will shut the mouths that have brought division.

'There is one gatekeeper that has prayed: your President.' And God said, 'I will show him in these three months, how a nation can be shaken and restored at the same time,' says the Spirit of God.

(Keep praying with me) Everyone is focused on this nation. Everyone is focused. . . everyone is focused on California.

When will God come and judge? But the spirit of God said, 'I've sent prophets together on the West Coast, to make declaration that God shall take the "fornia," the fornication, and the spirit that has brought so many untold millions of people to a place of degradation, and I will do something unusual.

'I will build an altar in the midst of the perversion, and show them who is in charge of the media. WHO is in charge of the media?!

'I will take CNN, and I will take some of the most powerful voices, and I will change them. And I will say, "You will no longer speak as secular humanists, but you will speak as the voice of God."

'I created the mouthpiece. I created the fog horn. I created the trumpet. I created it.'

God said, 'I created the news media; now I will infiltrate and take over and speak to this nation MYSELF,' says the Lord."

(Again, we see that God's eventual plan through all of this if for a RESTORATION AND REVIVAL! It is not gloom and doom. Yes, the world may get darker, but our Light will shine even brighter.)

The purpose of posting these prophecies is to encourage those who may be discouraged or even depressed at the circumstances we are facing today. Many have no prophetic understanding of the timing and positioning of God. We must understand that God is positioning us for an incredible, historical move of God. All these events, though so many times tragic, are pointing to something greater. This is not a time to sit back. It's not a time for spiritual R&R or even spiritual hibernation. This is a time to contend for the promises of God over our Nation, the Church, and our individual lives. We must contend for these promises! If we will, then we will see possibly the greatest move of God the world has ever known. We will be restored back to righteousness. We will be blessed and favored again. But if we choose to ignore our responsibility to intercede, then we can expect judgement and the removal of the hand of God from our nation.

Let's CONTEND for these PROMISES, AMEN!
